Coláiste an Eachréidh A Season of Success and Community Spirit

Athletics in Athlone This week, our students are gearing up for the Indoor Athletics Championships in Athlone, continuing our proud tradition of sporting excellence. Community Spirit – Maidin Caife Our 6th Year students recently hosted a ‘Maidin Caife’ in aid of Pieta House. A heartfelt thank you – míle buíochas – to everyone who supported this wonderful initiative. Your generosity helps make a real difference. Looking Ahead Fields of Athenry 10km – Nollaig Shona We are looking forward to supporting the Fields of Athenry 10km on Lá le Stiofáin. Ag guí Nollaig shona agus shíochánta ar ár dteaghlaigh, ár gcomharsana agus ár gcairde in Áth an Rí agus níos faide i gcéin.

Galway Schools Chess Competition We are delighted to host the Galway Schools Chess Competition here in Coláiste an Eachréidh on Tuesday, 2nd December 2025. This event brings together talented young minds from across the county for a day of strategy and friendly rivalry. Student Spotlight – Seán Doggett Congratulations to Seán Doggett, Leaving Cert class of 2026, who was named Schools Athlete of the Year after breaking a 17-year-old record in the Senior Boys’ 400m sprint. Seán’s achievement is a testament to his dedication and the strong sporting tradition in our school.

School Musical – Disco Inferno Our Transition Year students lit up the stage on 13th and 14th November with a spectacular performance of Disco Inferno. The energy, talent, and teamwork on display made this a memorable highlight of the school year.
