Club Leadership The Management Committee consisting of Paul Kavanagh, Kieran Coffey, Ian Kelly, Patricia Murphy, Peter Sheedy, Mary Kenny, Bob Reilly, Nicola Nally, Michael Lane, and Paul Molloy along with the Trustees, Noel Ivers, Veronica Cronin, Luke Glynn, and Martha Breen, deserve great credit for their commitment, time, and support throughout 2025. Their combined efforts ensure that Athenry Golf Club continues to thrive both on and off the course. People Who Make It Happen Our Club Professional, Sean Whelan, and his team Sean Cannon, Eoghan Burke, Darragh McCartin, and Stephen Feeney continue to be the friendly faces of Athenry Golf Club. Their commitment to coaching, guidance, and member engagement greatly enhances the Club experience. Behind the scenes, our Course Manager Gary Byrne and his skilled ground staff — Declan Higgins, Michael Higgins, Paddy Kindregan & Rian Kavanagh deserve special recognition for maintaining the course in superb condition throughout the year. The attention to detail ensures Athenry remains among the best-kept parkland courses in the province. Their efforts have gone beyond the call of duty since storm Ewoyn and along with Michael Lane, Marian Hosty aand Joe Bernie I extend a special thanks on behalf of all the members. The social heartbeat of the Club is as strong as ever. Weekends are filled with activity and camaraderie, as members and guests enjoy top-quality food, drinks, and hospitality courtesy of Shane & Christina Hanly and their excellent team. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail create a truly welcoming atmosphere and is a place where everyone feels at home. The ever-affable Mary Kelly and Bernie Connolly in the office work tirelessly throughout the year, keeping the Club running smoothly behind the scenes. Their professionalism, dedication, and friendly approach make them an invaluable asset to Athenry Golf Club, ensuring that members, visitors, and staff alike are always well supported.
