Summer 2026

Aoife and Emma Fundraiser As always, the club remains committed to supporting its members both on and off the field. In recent months, an incredible group of volunteers came together to organise a fundraising campaign for two members of the club’s U14 girls’ teams, Aoife O’Reilly and Emma Caulfield, who are currently facing difficult health challenges. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the community, more than €50,000 was raised to help support travel, medical treatment and ongoing rehabilitation expenses for both families. Everyone at Athenry FC joins the wider community in sending their very best wishes to Aoife and Emma. We hope that the efforts of the fundraisers and the kindness of those who donated will provide meaningful support throughout their journey ahead. Fundraising Committee members: Jack Duffy, Anne Walsh, Paul Michael, Elileen and Tony Caulfield, Joe O’Reilly, Deirdre Leech, Brian McDermott, Mary O’Reilly, Suzanne Greaney and Niamh McDermott.

The club was also represented on the Galway FA girls’ Gaynor Cup squad by Roisin Hannon and Sophie Cosgrove, whose team narrowly missed out on cup success.
