GOLF CLASSIC Following a highly successful Club Classic, we would like to acknowledge the tremendous efforts of our Vice Captains, Marie Ann Shivnan and Johnny Higgins, whose hard work and dedication ensured the event ran smoothly. A special thank you to our main sponsor Murray Timber Group, for their valued support. We also recognise the contribution of our club house and tee box sponsors and volunteers, whose generosity and assistance played an important role throughout the event. The Club Classic would not have been the success it was without the enthusiastic support of our members and guests who competed over the three days. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who helped make the event such an outstanding occasion. We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful team of volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to ensure the smooth running of the event. Your dedication, hard work and commitment are greatly appreciated and contributed enormously to the success of the day.

JUNIOR COMPETITIONS Athenry Golf Club will once again host two of its popular junior golfing competitions this summer. Both events, sponsored by Basil Holian of Watchman Holdings, will take place during August and are expected to attract young golfers from across Ireland. The first event will be the Girls’ Open Day, which takes place on Thursday, 6 August, followed by the Boys’ Scratch Cup on Tuesday, 18 August. Since their introduction two years ago, both competitions have grown in popularity and have attracted entries from all over the country. The events provide an excellent opportunity for young golfers to showcase their talent while competing on one of the region’s finest courses.
